Reimagining Superman

So a few weeks ago I made a Reels talking about the how to modernize Superman for the 21st century. The thing about it is that I continued to follow my train of thought on the subject. Superman aka Kal-El at his core is a refugee. By thinking of him as such our whole perspective of him would change. We, the collective, have come to view Superman as a white man. Yet history tells us that the concept of whiteness wasn't as broad as we currently consider it. The two men who created Superman wouldn't have been consider white in the not so distant past because they were of both of Eastern European ancestry and Jewish. This is our starting point in the reimagining out Superman. Their wide-eyed view of a better future expressed itself in Superman's overall character. Superman was and is a symbol of hope. Sadly, the better life they imagined still has the thorn of fear in its side. This fear guides people's perceptions of immigrants and refugees like Superman. The fear of the other, the
